Week 7 Results: Takin' the Bull by the Horns

Seven. To. Four. Whammy!

That object picking up speed in your rearview mirror? Oh, that's just my hand. Coming at your face. Don't worry, it's closer than it appears.

A few quick thoughts:

I hate to say I told you so, bru, but our offense is suspect. The o-line kind of sucked, Zac Lee looked awful, and the play calling really sucked. The defense did hold Tech to 259 yards, so there's that.

Colorado found a quarterback? Scary thought.

Feels weird to say it, but I feel bad for Oklahoma. Really.

What the fuck happened in the Kansas State game? Beat. Down. Kind of wish I was there instead of in Lincoln.

And Iowa dominates another second half and marches ever closer to their dream matchup with Cincinnati in the title game.

Total Score: 34-30 Chris

Week Six Results: Suuuuuuuhhh!

Ndamukong Suh is a fucking badass, but you already knew that. With six tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, a number of deflected passes, and an incredibly athletic interception that set up the game winning touchdown, Suh was everywhere. Without him, there's no way the Huskers win that game. So dominant was Suh that Andy Staples of SportsIllustrated.com is giving him some Heisman love, along with ESPN's Bruce Feldman and Tim Griffin. As awesome as that would be, there is no way he will win the Heisman Trophy.

Ps: A commentor over at Rock M Nation came up with the best nickname for him I have ever heard. "Donkey Kong Suh - I mean seriously, the guy throws barrels and kills people."

Anyway, on to the week's results.

Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting

The most hilarious thing I have ever seen an umpire do happened when I was ten years old. We were playing the Omaha Pee-Wees (I know, right?) at the Omaha Super Series. The batter was hit by a pitch that basically just hit his jersey and then went to the backstop. The runner on third, thinking it was a passed ball, bolted for home.

Not so fast. The umpire jumped out in front of the plate, took three quick steps down the line, and did a motion that can best be described as “circular-moving pistol hands” while shouting, “Dead ball, dead ball! You go baaaaaaaaack!” Our whole team was cracking up in the dugout, and I’m pretty sure most of their defense was too. That dude was fucking awesome.

But what happened at the Phillies game last Monday night might just win the Espy for Best Dance Moves by an Umpire.

Can’t. Stop. Laughing.
